This scene has been coming to my mind a lot lately.
Not because of the talk about aliens being real or the whole recent Jada thing — that discussion is on the shelf for another day — but because it’s a truthful insight on human nature.
A Person is smart. People are dumb.
It sounds mean spirited but it’s a clever paradox.
Let's just take a step back. Amid the 2020 whirlwind, it's easy to feel like there is no end in sight. Everyone and everything is going crazy, giving you every signal imaginable that you should follow suit.
Don't.
Don't drown in the wave of your own emotion, good or bad, and don't limit your thinking to the mentality of the heard.
Be a “smart person” instead. I put that in quotes because intelligence varies on the context but how I see it, all it takes to be smart are two frames of thinking:
Instead of just parroting lines you heard elsewhere, quickly posting something on your story, or throwing around retweets, take the extra steps needed to gain insight before speaking on any given topic — the more sensitive or complex, the more time you should invest.
Always listen with the possibility of being wrong, and be mindful that any person you talk to, whether it’s intentional or accidental, has something to teach you. That way, the conversations you partake in can go pass your natural bias or even better, pass the limitations of your knowledge.
We need smart people now more than ever. So to my friends, family, and the beautiful strangers currently reading this, please don’t be an idiot.

Came across this beautiful thought that sounds a lot cooler than mine.
Small Victories…

This is in Detroit over the 4th of July Weekend, where a Columbus statue once stood. I try not to get too lost in symbols but this is a beautiful sight to see when it comes to progress.
Cool Apps to Peep…

Notion
I discovered this app a couple of weeks ago and it has been an absolute game-changer for my writing so far. For a long time I let myself dwell as a pen to the paper guy, thinking it brought more honor to my work when in reality, I was only wasting time.
Granted, there is always a time and a place for the old fashioned way but this is what the new age is about; using technology to make the ideation process fast, easy, and organized so it’s an easy share for your team. Whoever they may be.

If you were born in the '90s like me, you're officially old. Don’t believe me? The entire aesthetic of our childhood is coming back out branded as new. Poolside FM, a music player for your desktop that teleports you back to a simpler time, is a perfect example of this. It’s nice to throw in the background when you don’t feel like hunting for music and need a bright vibe.
Laugh of the Week

Maaaannn, I was in tears when I peeped this. Don’t know if he’s protesting against wearing it or committed to upholding the mask rule but either way it hilarious.
Randomly Interesting…
Nothing but respect for all the classic cartoonists.
Music Corner…

I was gonna write about the mixed feelings I had while listening to the classic posthumous album from King Pop Smoke but came across this cover story that does him more justice than I could. RIP to a legend.

Lute is one of Dreamville’s best-kept secrets. His energy is similar to early J Cole but his flow is further along than his mentor at the same time in their journey. To go along with the bars, he’s got a dope aesthetic and a bigger personality that he’s starting to put on display with his Youtube Series: GoldMouf Chronicles
I love everything this dude drops because it all has so much detail and purpose. Being stuck at home hasn’t stopped the gems. This is his latest.
If you enjoyed anything, please share with someone you know or click that heart — both if you love me.
It helps out a lot.
Till next time.
Keep surviving & thriving
